RC Airplane Challenge

“Reece did a fantastic job for us. He was able to work without supervision and delivered what we needed of him.” - Reggie Strange (founder of Strange Games)

RC Airplane Challenge (RCAC) is, as I’m sure you guessed, a remote control airplane simulator developed by Strange Games. I joined the project after playing another Strange Games product, Honor and Duty: D-Day on PlayStation VR and wanting to work on something over the summer while I was waiting to begin my masters.

I primarily worked on fixing bugs, building the tutorial systems, refining game modes and building track layouts to the specifications of Reggie (founder of Strange Games). We have built up a good working relationship and we still speak regularly, with him helping me out occasionally with issues related to Electroknight and me helping Reggie test the game ready for a Quest release.

It was a fantastic experience working with Reggie and afforded me my first experiences working with VR, skills that would later go on to be essential in the development of Electroknight, as well as experience working as a freelance programmer and working to tight specifications. If you’re interested, I’ve included a link to some footage of the game below.
