About Me
Hi! I’m Reece, a developer at Conexiom focused on automating industrial B2B sales. As part of this I’ve focused on improving internal tooling, providing optimisations that have saved over 20 hours of development time per month and worked with customers to deliver solutions to complex business problems. Previously to this, I completed a master’s by research at the University of Lincoln focused on gamifying musical-sight reading practice and have a published paper on the subject. Since tinkering with game engines back in 2012, I’ve been hooked on building software and have experience working in various teams, alongside clients and independently on various projects.
Outside of building software, I spend my time playing drums and bass guitar in several bands based in both London and Cambridge. My longest running band unfortunately also happens to have the worst name in Cambridge, “No Flamingos on a Sunday”. We’ll play anything from Motorhead to Britney Spears, with a number of originals thrown in for good measure. I like to think we sound better than the name does!
Experience
Conexiom
Conection Developer: A focus on automation of industrial B2B sales. I have spent my time working with C# to provide custom implementations for businesses automation needs, including building out custom business logic, validations and retrieval/delivery of data via APIs. Additionally, I was chosen to be a part of a team to improve our internal ticketing systems working with ASP.Net and T-SQL in SQL Server Management Studio. I introduced several new features to our systems to improve workflow such as introducing new, faster ways of managing tickets as well as optimisations to the platform saving over 20 hours of development time per month. I’ve also had influence in our quality control procedures, having been part of the team that created guidelines for best practices for business implementations. I was a mentor in the mentorship program designed to skill up the team and am often a point of contact when someone needs help.
University of Lincoln
Associate Demonstrator: As part of my time working at the University of Lincoln, I was responsible for assisting undergraduates with any difficulties they were experiencing with modules. I regularly spoke with students and walked them through various computing concepts and provided help for assessments where required. I was also given the task of creating a number of videos for the schools computer science YouTube to explain computing fundamentals such as sorting/searching algorithms and boolean logic. These can be found on the University of Lincoln - School of Computer Science YouTube as part of the Fundamentals of Computing series.
